NDIS Provider in Brisbane

Supports across Brisbane, from a provider close enough to be on time.

A registered provider on Brisbane’s southern doorstep

GOTLEHS CARE is a registered NDIS provider, number 405 358 3296, based at Park Ridge just south of the Brisbane boundary. We deliver supports across the city, with the strongest coverage on the southside and through the western corridor.

Brisbane has no shortage of providers. What it has a shortage of is providers with capacity, which is a different problem and the one participants actually run into. We’d rather tell you on the first call that we can’t start for three weeks than add you to a list and go quiet.

We cover the southside suburbs from Sunnybank, Mount Gravatt, Coorparoo and Carindale through Acacia Ridge, Inala and Forest Lake, the inner city, and the western corridor out through Oxley and Darra. Northside coverage depends on the support type and the time of day, and we’ll be straight with you about it.

NDIS services we deliver in Brisbane

All ten registered supports are available in Brisbane. Three carry particular weight in a city this size.

Transport to appointments, because Brisbane is where the specialists are and where participants from across South East Queensland end up travelling to. Assist life stages and transition, particularly hospital discharge support from the major hospitals. And social and community participation, where the sheer number of options is either an opportunity or a paralysing amount of choice depending on who’s helping you navigate it.

Also available: accommodation and tenancy assistance, personal care, daily living skills, physical wellbeing activities, therapeutic supports, specialised driver training, and assistance animals and innovative supports.

Who we support in Brisbane

Participants of all ages and disability types, across agency-managed, plan-managed and self-managed plans.

People being discharged from the Princess Alexandra, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s, the Mater or Queensland Children’s Hospital, where supports have to be in place by a date somebody else has set.

Participants travelling into Brisbane for specialist appointments from Logan, Ipswich and further out, who need someone to drive, park, and come in with them.

Students and workers, where transport reliability decides whether a course or a job survives its first three months.

And participants in the middle-ring southside suburbs, where provider presence looks good on paper and availability at the hours people actually need is another matter.

How support works in Brisbane

  1. Brisbane runs on traffic, and any provider who tells you otherwise hasn’t sat on the Ipswich Motorway at half past seven. We schedule around it, which sometimes means a shift starts at 9.30 rather than 8.30 because the 8.30 version would have been a lie.

  2. For hospital discharge we work backwards from the date. What has to be true by the day before, by the week before, and which of those is already at risk. Discharge planning moves faster than NDIS processes do, and the gap has to be actively managed rather than hoped through.

  3. For appointment transport we plan the whole trip, including where the car goes. Parking at the major hospitals and inner-city specialist rooms is genuinely difficult, and a participant left standing outside a building while their driver circles the block is a familiar and avoidable problem.

  4. For community participation, we narrow the field rather than presenting it. Brisbane has hundreds of options and most participants want three good ones, not a list.

The problems Brisbane participants face

Choice without capacity is the defining Brisbane problem. There are hundreds of providers listed and participants still wait weeks to start, because the listings reflect registration rather than availability.

Travel charges are higher than people expect in a city where a fifteen kilometre trip can take fifty minutes. Participants sign with a provider on the other side of the river and lose a real share of their funding to the drive.

Hospital discharge remains the sharpest edge. A bed is needed, a date is set, and the supports at home are not ready. People go home to a house that doesn’t work for them because the alternative was staying in a ward.

Public transport is good along the main corridors and thin between them. A participant living two suburbs off a busway line can find a short trip takes over an hour.

And in a big city it’s entirely possible to be surrounded by activity and still be completely isolated. Brisbane participants describe this more often than participants in the smaller regions we cover.

What we do about it in Brisbane

We tell you our real capacity for your suburb and your hours before you commit. Not our registration, our capacity.

We’re honest about travel costs. If you’re on the far northside and the drive would take an unreasonable share of your funding, we’ll tell you and suggest someone closer. Our southside and western coverage is where we’re genuinely competitive.

For discharges, ring us while the date is being discussed rather than once it’s confirmed. Even a few extra days changes what we can have in place.

We build routines around traffic reality rather than optimism, and we call you if a worker is running late instead of explaining afterwards why nobody came.

And for isolation, we go looking for the small local thing rather than the big obvious one. A neighbourhood centre in Annerley will do more for someone than a large program they attend anonymously.

Frequently asked questions

If your question isn’t here, ring us on 0425 799 687. We’d rather answer it properly than have you guess.

Which parts of Brisbane do you cover?

Our strongest coverage is the southside and the western corridor, from Sunnybank, Mount Gravatt, Coorparoo and Carindale through Acacia Ridge, Inala, Forest Lake, Oxley and Darra, plus the inner city. Northside coverage depends on the support type and the hours you need, so ring us with the specifics.

Can you support a hospital discharge?

Yes, and the earlier you call the better. Ring us while a discharge date is being discussed rather than after it’s confirmed. Discharge planning moves faster than NDIS processes, and a few extra days makes a real difference to what we can arrange.

Will a worker come into my specialist appointment with me?

If you want them to, yes. For many participants that’s the more valuable part of the shift, especially at appointments where a lot of information arrives quickly and questions are easy to forget.

Why do some providers charge so much for travel in Brisbane?

Because worker travel is billable under the NDIS pricing arrangements and Brisbane distances take longer than the map suggests. It’s legitimate, but it’s worth understanding before you commit. We’ll tell you what it means for your address upfront.

There are hundreds of NDIS providers in Brisbane. Why are the waits so long?

Because a provider being registered for a support isn’t the same as having a worker free at the hours you need. The listings show registration, not availability. That’s why we quote you our actual capacity on the first call.
